Next June The Strokes will play their first gig since October 2006, nearly 4 years.

Apparently the material for a new album has been written but not necessarily finished fine tuning it.

Interpol have announced that they will be releasing a new album in 2010. The album has been recored in electric lady land studio NYC.

Fogarino has said that he wants the album to get back to the original roots similar in sound to Turn On The Bright Lights.

Tha Carter IV has apparently also finished recording, there has been rumor that rebirth and Carter IV are going to be release as a double disc. I highly doubt it but

Foals

Im itching for a new album from The Foals, a while back on their myspace they did state 'in the studio'. Antidotes only got a 5.9 on Pitchfork, I thought that was pretty harsh.

Ambling Amp

Brooklyn 's Yeasayer revealed in an interview with Pitchfork that they had finished their new album and it will be released on February 09, 2010.

Quite a lot of very deserved buzz for one of their new songs Ambling Alp.

Canvas Kites is Thom Moores new band after Mercy Arms split. Only got one song on their myspace Wayside.

So I am horrified, upset and almost suicidal to say that my favorite Australian band have split. Well they have been split for a while but because I have only just got back to Sydney I only just really found out. 

Seeing Mercy Arms live is an amazing experience you cant believe how much noise is being created from four instruments, and Thom Moores voice is extremely captivating.

Notes from a traveller

As a young chav I mainly holidayed on the Australian coast with my family and our close family friends, anywhere from Noosa, Yamba, Killcare and Broome. Just anywhere where we could bake in the sun and swim like fish.

My first trip abroad was to Fiji when i was about 4 which i have no memories of, although I did go back to Fiji when i was 13 and my only real memory is my mum stubbing her toe to shit on some rocks and swearing, that and eating more seafood than you could poke a stick at. 

I have never been able to sleep on planes and usually have to walk around the plane like a terrorist wiggin out. Until I travelled to South America where you can buy Valium without a prescription. Basically a few scotches and coke with a couple of valls and i feel like i have been upgraded to first class.

I have travelled to over 125 destinations across 5 different continents so many amazing places and amazing people and enough stories to rewrite the bible. You may be wondering where is my favorite all time place well I wont tell you yet...

Violent Soho

My favorite boys from Brisbane have been touring the states with and playing with Dinosaur Junior.

Watching Violent Soho live makes me wanna fuck shit up, and when i listen to it at home I jump around like ice addict coming down searching for more.

Word on the street is that Dinosaur Jr. will be touring Australia in 2010.

My word to you is if you havent listened to Violent Soho go to their myspace and plug ya lappie into some loud speakers.

The Dead Weather

Listened to this album 3 times in a row today. Looser than the White Stripes and darker than the Raconteurs the Dead Weather is Jack Whites third band, although you she him behind the drum kit in Dead Weather, with Alison Mosshart singing and on lead guitar.

Hot Chip

Hot Chip have announced that they will be releasing a new album this February.

Made in the Dark was one of my most loved albums of 2008.

When I listen to Hot Chip I wanna dance like im having an epileptic fit and trying to straighten it out with a bit of K.

Arctic Monkeys

Crying Lighting one of the new singles from Arctic Monkeys new album Humbug. Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age helped produce the album in this song espically you can feel his influence rubbing off on them.

Comparing the crying lighting video with one of their first video's I bet you look good on the dancefloor you can really see how they are growing as a band in sound & style.

Cosmic Egg

The first Wolfmother LP was amazing and I can honestly say I have nothing but amazing memories weather it be jumping on my bed with mates, or watching them live hoping that I dont get moshed to death. I havent been that excited about their new album as Andrew Stockdale is the only remaining original member of the band, and they have also turned into a 4 piece. No doubt to out do their first album was an monstrous task. I hate to judge things by their cover but for one the new album cover is rubbish and the album is also named after a yoga move.

From first listenings I am not digging it all that much nothing really stands out or sounds that original. 

Im giving this album a 4 outta 10 which is very very generous.

Cold Cave

Going to see Cold Cave (who are from Philadelphia New York) tomorrow night at Madame Jojo's in Soho, London. 

I love the synthy popness to thier songs. They have an album coming out November 3rd.

Glow in The Dark

I first took an interest in Kanye West when he helped produce Blueprint by Jay Z in 2001. 

College Dropout was phenomenal as was Late registraion. Wasnt the biggest fan of Graduation, but definately love 808's & Heartbreaks.

Kanye has just realeased Glow in The Dark a collection of photos along with instrumenatals and interviews.

Love him or hate him?
